Meet the Staff

Melanie, Registered Dental Hygienist

I grew up in southeast Indiana where Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio meet along the Ohio River. From the age of 10 until the age of 22, I worked in our family business. Over the years, my parents owned three Dairy Queen restaurants.

I graduated from the University of Cincinnati Dental Hygiene School in 1978. Hard to believe that was 40 years ago! I love my profession and there's nothing I'd rather do. In 1952, my mother graduated from Indiana University Dental Hygiene School. Then in 1979, my younger sister also graduated from IU Dental Hygiene School. After graduation, I lived and worked in Indianapolis for 10 years. Fall 1989, I decided to move to Colorado to be closer to my sister and her family. Since then I have enjoyed living and working in beautiful Colorado.

I love spending time with family and close friends. A lot of my time is spent doing yard work and taking care of my house. Next to dental hygiene, my biggest job is raising Josie--my 18 month old golden retriever. She sure keeps me busy.

TK, Expanded Duty Dental Assistant

My name is Tammy, aka T.K. I'm an expanded duty dental assistant. I graduated from Pima Medical in 1996. I received my expanded duty dental assistant certificate in 2001. I am passionate about my work and I love my job. I grew up in Golden, Colorado, and have raised two kids. I enjoy stand up paddleboarding, hiking, reading, cooking, and being outdoors.

Mandy, Registered Dental Hygienist

Personal: Growing up in a military family, I moved around most of my life. This opened up many opportunities by allowing me to meet new people and see some amazing places. My husband and I met in high school and have a four year old son. We moved to Colorado from the East Coast a few years ago and love what this beautiful state has to offer.

Education: Attended St. Louis College in St. Louis, MO and received a dental hygiene degree in 2011. A member of the Southeast Denver Hygiene Study club for continuing education classes.

Hobbies: Most of my free time is spent with my family. With a four year old boy, most time off revolves around him. I also enjoy reading, watching, movies, hiking, and traveling.

Jean, Registered Dental Hygienist

Growing up on a farm and ranch near Ord Nebraska, was an experience that I will always treasure. I have been married to husband Jerry for 36 years and has three adult children: John and Julie are both married, and Joe who is attending Mount Saint Mary Seminary in Maryland. His current studies would enable him to become a priest and an Army chaplain. I am also blessed with one grandson, Peter, who is two years old. At this time, I serve as a lector and participate in various ministries at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker and am a second year student of the Denver Biblical School.

I graduated in 1980 from the University of Nebraska Medical College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and I am still a member of Sigma Phi Alpha(Dental Hygiene Honorary top 10% of class), I was honored to be chosen by faculty and fellow students as "Outstanding Senior Dental Hygiene Student". In addition to graduating with Distinction, I attended the Lee Institute of Bioesthetics, 1994-1995 and am currently a member of Southeast Denver Dental Hygiene Study Club.

I am a true Nebraska Husker football fan, enjoy golf and spending time with my grandson. I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Bob since 2010.

Amy, Dental Assistant

During my college years I went to study oversea's in South Africa at the University of Capetown, South Africa from 2001 - 2004. After I received my college degree in zoology with a minor in Elephant Behavior I worked as a zoologist / safari guide ranger for Kruger National Game Reserve from 2001-2009. During that time I focused a lot on conservation efforts in protecting African Wildlife from human conflicts and educating the local villagers about how important it is to protect Elephants, Rhino's and other animals from poachers. I also would take guests out on safari drives looking for the Big 5. In August of 2009 I came back to Colorado to be closer to my family and I got a job working as a zookeeper at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo working with the elephants. I did that for a year and a half and finally realized being a zookeeper wasn't for me. So I decided to work as a teachers' assistant with kids with special needs for three years in Colorado Springs. I enjoyed working with my students they always put a smile on my face.

A year and a half ago I decided to move out of Colorado Springs to make a fresh start and I ended up in Parker, Colorado. My sister told me about a possible job working as a Dental Assistant at a family practice and thought I would be a great addition to the office. I got the job as the newest addition to Dr. Utberg's staff and it has been the best job that I could ask for and I consider each co-worker part of my family.
